District Government Cologne

The Cologne district government acts as a bundling and middle authority by supervising, advising and deciding for the population. It consists of six departments and provides impulses for the development of the region.

The school department of the district government, as the upper school supervisory authority, supervises the school offices, the centres for practical teacher training (ZfsL) and the schools of the district, advises and supports them in carrying out their tasks. It supervises over 45,000 teachers and is involved in their initial and in-service training. It also participates in the coordination of European projects.

In the EMR-Lingua project, the Cologne district government takes on the role of an associated partner and is particularly involved in work package 3 in the area of developing a Euregional digital textbook.
