The district of Düren with its 15 communes lies regionally embedded in the trinational corner, where its citizens live the Euroregional nature of the neighbouring countries. With its diverse functions mainly in district development and planning and in the promotion of trade and industry, the district of Düren can look back on many years of experience as a partner in INTERREG projects. Of the 79 primary and secondary schools in the district of Düren, six schools have so far been certified as Euroregion Profile Schools. The aim is to double this number by the spring of 2023 and to support the schools in their Euroregional school development concepts.
The coordinated cooperation of all experts is essential for a holistic education, also at the trans-regional level. The Regional Education Office (RBB) in the district of Düren has been collaborating with schools, parents’ representatives, youth welfare, kindergartens, counselling centres and independent sponsors on various projects for more than 10 years. The objective is to enable all children, youngsters and their families to enjoy good opportunities for education and participation. With the Euroregion Profile Schools project, the RBB is creating further educational and career prospects, accompanying the processes within the project as a networker, showing needs-based offerings and supporting interested schools in the search for a partner school.
